Emoções

by Maria Luísa Ramos

(original Portuguese version)

Portão do mundo secreto
nos jardins da loucura,
canteiros de carinho
bordejados de afectos
cactos como flores verde macio
bafejadas de vermelho,
dentre os aloés, agressivas
imperiosas, florescem insolências
As vertigens de eróticas palmeiras
ondulando cadenciadas brisas
frémito de estrelas cadentes
cintinlando violentas
mergulham
em inúteis diálogos de revolta
na busca da linguagem
de escravos petrificados na memória
dos homens vivos
sensíveis feixes de cordas e guitarras
liras e harpas
aos suspiros e ais emudecidos
mas não surdos ao silêncio
dos berros da fome
da vergonha de ser
do sujo da doença
dos doidos de dor.
Longe
as florestas virgens de todas as liberdades.

Emotions

by Maria Luisa Ramos
(English translation of Emoções)

Gate to the secret world
in the gardens of madness,
tenderness flowerbeds
outlined with affections
cacti as soft green flowers
thinly sprayed with red,
among the aloes, blossom aggressive,
imperious insolences
The vertigos of erotic
palm trees
undulating cadenced breezes
the tremor of shooting stars
violently scintillating
dive
into fruitless, rebellious dialogues
searching for the language
of slaves petrified in the
memory
of the living men
sensitive threads of strings and guitars
lyres and harps
whispering muted moanings
but not deaf to the silence
of the hunger screams
of the shame of being
of the filth of disease
of the insane through pain
Far away
the virgin forests of all
liberties
