In the interview, Mr. Hedges says that that if we are not careful, what we are experiencing now with COVID-19 may be considered the good times during the Pandemic, compared to what may follow. He suggests that America may experience a deep depression coupled with increasingly obvious fascism. It is my sincere hope that during these dark times, Americans will find a way to pull together despite all by creating a new more positive paradigm, but that is another story. No true change comes without a struggle. First we fall into the labyrinth.

Eos: The Creative Context 
wonderful Bea Garth painting; we are falling, and how we rise will be interesting to observe,
and experience…. it feels like our living planet knows a species that is too heavy to bear
in any balanced way, and is making adjustments, painful as they always are…. alas, we don’t seem
able to make those adjustments ourselves… the struggle for
balance goes on in the midst of “Koyaanisqatsi”, tho the timelines for that balance are very long…
it is said (on a bumper sticker at least) that art saves lives, and i believe it.

Thank you Roger! I am really glad the painting reaches you. It describes the beginning of the Hero’s Journey that we all must go through to create true change. First we have to go through the Underworld to face and overcome our Demons before we get to where we can create a better World. Of course right now the stakes are speeded up due to the Environmental Crisis getting worse by the minute.
